Our Team
JoAnn R. Miller, Chief Executive Officer
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
JoAnn brings over 35 years of experience in community development and grant implementation, with a strong focus on promoting public health initiatives in rural communities across Washington and Oregon. Throughout her career, she has worked with various organizations to implement state and federal programs that help communities thrive. Most recently, she served as the Community Health Promotion Director for Samaritan Health Services, where she supervised a team of seven, advised 36 advisory board members across five hospitals on community benefit, and led the Coast to Cascades Community Wellness Network—a tri-county coalition addressing chronic diseases, mental health and substance use disorders, and oral health. Her leadership has been instrumental in securing over $12.5 million in funding for rural and public health initiatives, including substance use prevention, violence prevention, and oral health. JoAnn offers extensive expertise in grant writing and management, planning community health initiatives, and building regional coalitions. She has also served on numerous local, state, and national advisory boards, advocating for services and support for children, youth, and families, and is an experienced state and federal grant reviewer.
